3,500 flights have been canceled thanks to "Nemo," the blizzard that is bearing down on New England tonight. On Feb. 8, KTLA reported that the winter storm has caused several airports to cancel arrivals and departures. Any flights that were scheduled to fly in to Boston's Logan Airport have been delayed until further notice. The earliest that flights are expected to resume is some time on Sunday.
In Boston, a vehicle ban that went in to place at 4 p.m. on Friday. The only people allowed on the roads are emergency personnel, utility crews, media, and health care workers. Any one who is out "joy riding" could receive a fine of up to $500 or 1-year imprisonment. The MBTA halted services at 3 p.m. Friday and may not resume until Sunday at the earliest.
The 3,500 flights canceled were only part of the travel ban put in to place because of "Nemo." People are encouraged to stay home, keep warm, and ride this storm out.
