The wait is over!
Kanye West may have a reputation for being many things, but it turns out being proud father trumps them all. The 36-year-old new dad joined Kris Jenner for the season finale of her talk show, "Kris," and brought a big surprise with him: a precious photo of baby North.
Squashing rumors that he and Kim were withholding the pictures of their new daughter until they received a high enough offer from a magazine to publish them, Kanye insisted they "have not tried to put anything in a magazine." He then went on to announce that he would be sharing a snapshot of their bundle-of-joy because he was sick of being followed by paparazzi gunning to get the first look since she was born on June 15.And the picture did not disappoint. In the shot, North lies on her stomach in a black onesie staring straight at the camera. She has big, almond-shaped eyes, tan skin, and a full head of hair — and it's pretty undeniable that she is a beauty.
"I pray that she looks like her mother," Kanye quipped as the audience cooed over the gorgeous little one. For her part, Kris declared that North has Kim's eyes, Kanye's cheeks, and lips that are a blend between the two.
Kanye, beaming like a proud parent, explained that having a child has strengthened his bond with Kim even further. "It's brought us closer because there is someone more important than us to us for the first time," he mused.
Not that they weren't already close before. Recalling his courtship of Kim, Kanye said it was "definitely" love at first sight when they met many years ago before adding, "I was in love with her before I even got to talk to her."
Kanye also confessed that becoming a father gave him a new perspective on a moment that has made him infamous, the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when he interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech.
"The last thing I would want to happen to my daughter is some crazy drunk black guy in a leather shirt to come up and cut her off at an awards show," the rapper admitted. "That's the last thing I'd want."
