BYE HATERS! Jada Pinkett-Smith Slams Her Daughter's Hair Critics!

GET OFF WILLOW'S BACK and stay outta her hair!!! Besides her unquestionable musical talents, Willow Smith, daughter of movie celebs Jada and Will Smith, has also stirred much attention due to her eccentric wadrobe and daring hairstyles at such a young age.Well, mama Jada is not dealing with the haters any longer.....

Jada finally took to her Facebook page to address her daughters critics:
A letter to a friend…

This subject is old but I have never answered it in its entirety. And even with this post it will remain incomplete.

The question why I would LET Willow cut her hair. First the LET must be challenged. This is a world where women, girls are constantly reminded that they don’t belong to themselves; that their bodies are not their own, nor their power or self determination. I made a promise to endow my little girl with the power to always know that her body, spirit and her mind are HER domain. Willow cut her hair because her beauty, her value, her worth is not measured by the length of her hair. It’s also a statement that claims that even little girls have the RIGHT to own themselves and should not be a slave to even their mother’s deepest insecurities, hopes and desires. Even little girls should not be a slave to the preconceived ideas of what a culture believes a little girl should be.
More to come. Another day.

J

Lil Wayne Announces His Retirement After Upcoming "Carter V" Album

On Wednesday (after the premiere of his “No Worries” music video), the Young Money rhyme animal revealed to MTV News' Sway Calloway that his upcoming Tha Carter V LP will be his last before he walks away from music. So, what’s next for Tunechi? The wide world of sports, that’s what.
“I’d be a skater/sports analyst,” Wayne told Sway of his ideal future profession. “My day job will probably be sports analyst and I’ll skate all night instead of being in the studio all night.”

Weezy doesn’t necessarily want to skate competitively, but he wants to be a huge part of the culture. He’s already built multiple skate parks, one in his native New Orleans, and you’ll be hard pressed to find him without a deck in hand these days. Wayne also has his skate-inspired TRUKFIT clothing line.“Skating is a world, it’s a world... it’s a life, it’s a world, it’s, it’s own and I didn’t know that,” he said candidly. “I thought it was four wheels and piece of wood. I didn’t know that. Now I know it’s a world and I just wanna be vital in that world.”

As far as his dream of sitting behind a sports desk, Weezy says he already has an idea in the works. “My big brother Nelly and I... him and I we got a sports show coming out,” he revealed. “We don’t have a station, we’re just doin’ it ourselves right now.” -(MTV)

Speaking to MTV News, Lil Wayne revealed what fans can expect from his much-anticipated album, claiming: "It's like a Carter V".

When asked why he didn't just merge the two albums if they are so similar, the 30-year-old star replied: "Because I know y'all want me around for a little bit, and Carter V is my last album. Man, I've been rappin' since I was 8 years old. I'm 30 now, man. That's a long time, man."
He added: "I signed my contract at 11, I went platinum at 14. I'm 30 now. Thank God I haven't put out an album that hasn't went platinum. To just keep it goin' like that, I think not only am I being greedy, I'm fooling myself to think that it will continue to be that great."

Lil Wayne's next album is due for release on February 19 and he also has a number of other interests including his love for skateboarding and his clothing line.

He continued: "When I love to do something, I'm fully focused on it and it only. And music sometimes is not that 'it.'" (-Press Party)

So, Walmart is Notorious For It's" Weird" Consumers, But This Sighting Wasn't Your Average "Strange-r"

While grabbing a bite to eat on Sunday, I couldn't help but to notice a bright, pink human figure seated in a distant corner at the barstool of the Subway located inside my local Wal-Mart. Dipped head-to-toe in what appeared to be pink body paint (or was it actually her skin?), a large straw sombrero positioned upon long pink and blonde locks (half and half), sat a jovial woman with her young daughter and husband. First instinct, I think for all of us shoppers, was to gape at this rather peculiar oddity, but then look quickly away if her eye contact caught yours; almost as if an alien had spotted you peeping in on one of his top secret operations. I couldn't help but to notice how this beautiful family sat and ate and laughed and debated amicably about random things, with no particular care in the world.

ThePinkBlogger, Mac Mooney & The Purple Mermaid.... Spontaneous Photo Shoot on a Normal MidDay Outting

After finishing my flatbread chicken sandwich, I later caught sight of the pink woman again at the jewelry section of the store, performing magic tricks for her young daughter and a circle of friends the toddler had gathered to watch her "Superhero" mommy. Then as quickly as the magical illusion had been performed the pink-being flashed over to help her husband adjust his newly purchased nose ring in the mirror.

From over hearing her dialog with shoppers and the employees that had begun to gather around, I learned this colorful lady's name was ThePinkBlogger. She gave fanciful detail on how she was a novice illusionist, however she believed that the genuine magic was accomplished by her onlookers via the wide eyes of amazement and big smiles of childlike glee that spread across their faces after her illusionary tricks were performed. She explained that she existed off of the happiness she was missioned to bring to others, even if their joy only lasted for one passing millisecond. She further intrigued her audience by telling of her current undertakings to help find cure and promote awareness of Breast Cancer and National Hunger & Homelessness Issues. New passerby's whipped out their white i-phones to snap pictures and text themselves calendar reminders of the ThePinkBlogger's magic show said to unfold at the Quincy Public Library this coming December. I secretly also took out a small notepad out of my purse in just enough time to jot down ThePinkBlogger.Com, which I could hear her sing out to everyone as she was whisked away by her daughter who pleaded to now go down the toy aisle. I was warmed by the candid expressions of her husband who likewise stared at his wife in a peculiar, but pleasantly inquisitive gaze just like all of us consumers did that afternoon.

Not sure how many of you out there have also seen this whimsical pink woman and where, but one thing I am certain we'd all probably agree is that she gives you the tingles one would get from extraterrestrial folklore told at bedtime, but yet somehow her voice will warm you just enough that you might actually approach her to squeak out a brief "hello",… if you dare.....

National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week, November 10 - 18, 2012! PLEASE PASS IT ON!!!

For those of you unaware this week may is National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week. For ThePinkBlogger however, I am spreading this awareness ALL MONTH OF NOVEMBER.

As we prepare to give Thanks over the Holidays, please take just one moment to read below about how you may help play an IMPORTANT role to a child or family less fortunate than you this season. Just one kind word spoken such as,"Happy Thanksgiving", "Seasons Greetings" or "God Bless" to the next homeless person that crosses your path can go a looong way.

Please rememeber Hunger and Homelessness plays no bias to race, color, sex, age, religion or creed and is often MISJUDGED by it being that suffering person's fault or by expecting those in that unfortunate situation to look, smell or behave a certain way. Trust me, there are a NUMEROUS "well-kept" persons commuting on our daily paths, back and forth on the same trains, buses and streets, that still have inadequate food and shelter at the end of their work day.

Our children also depend on us. A Hungry Belly is Often A Sad Belly....

ADVOCATE
Advocacy is critical to creating the systemic changes needed to end homelessness. Advocacy means working with people experiencing homelessness to bring about positive changes in policies and programs on the local, state, and federal levels. It means working with various sectors of the community (e.g. city/county officials, members of Congress, direct service providers, and the business community) to develop workable strategies for responding to homelessness. It also means changing your language and behaviors in small ways that may contribute to larger changes in the way people experiencing homelessness are seen and treated in our society.

Become more aware of your language. Try to minimize language in your own and others’ vocabularies that refers to people experiencing homelessness in derogatory ways. By using expressions such as “people experiencing homelessness” rather than labels such as “bum,” “transient,” or even “the homeless,” we remind ourselves that people who are in such situations are still people first—just people who are going through a difficult period in their lives. In a time when they may find it difficult to hold onto their sense of humanity, it is particularly important that we do not use language that further diminishes the dignity of people in homeless situations.

Follow local politics.

Educate your leaders

Involve the media.

Register people experiencing homelessness to vote. ( The “You Don’t Need A Home to Vote” nonpartisan voter registration/education/get-out-the-vote campaign occurs nationwide each election cycle. Find out how you can lobby for homeless voting rights written policy or law in your state. To obtain the voting rights registration manual and poster, contact Michael Stoops, (202) 462-4822 or mstoops@nationalhomeless.org. )

Sponsor a Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. (NSCAHH at (800) NO-HUNGR or info@studentsagainsthunger.org.)

Recognize National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day. ( Every year, on or around the first day of winter (December 21), nearly 100 communities nationwide hold local memorial services to remember people who have died homeless during that year).

REACH OUT
Reaching out by volunteering your time to work directly with people experiencing homelessness is one of the best ways to learn about homelessness and help to meet immediate needs at the same time.

  • Work at a shelter. Take an evening or overnight shift. Help with clerical work such as answering phones, typing, filing, or sorting mail. Serve food, wash dishes, or sort and distribute clothes.
  • Share hobbies. Teach your hobbies to a group of people staying at a homeless shelter. Ask them about their hobbies and have them teach you.

  • Invite people experiencing homelessness to a community event. Invite people who are experiencing homelessness to a worship service, public concert or picnic, city council meeting, etc.

  • Work with children. Assist program directors that are coordinating events such as field trips, picnics or art workshops for children staying in homeless shelters. Find out if there are children who could benefit from tutors or mentors.

  • Involve others! Encourage your classmates, co-workers, church/synagogue members, or civic club to join or support your efforts.
